GUIDING

Christian Hagenlocher has been guiding birding and nature trips formally for the last ten years, and informally since leading his parents into the woods as a young child. He has extensive knowledge and expertise in different aspects of biology, ecology, marine biology, and ornithology- and he is still learning!

Christian has led trips for multiple birding festivals including The Biggest Week in American Birding, Rio Grande Valley Bird Festival, and for clients across the country. He has guided trips across Colorado for Colorado Birding Adventures, in Wyoming for Wildside, Alaska for Zugunruhe Bird Tours, and many others. He is a regular instructor for Hog Island Audubon Camp for their Mountains to Sea Bird Camp for Teens, and has guided programs for the American Birding Association’s Camp Colorado.

NORTH AMERICA

Our extensive travels across the continent has positioned us to have on the ground experience in many of North America’s best birding locations. The Birding Project is connected to many local, regional, and international guides. We can offer customized tours anywhere in the country, or connect you with a local guide or tour company whose offerings will suit your needs perfectly.

International Expeditions

Thinking of taking a dream trip abroad to see birds? We’ve done it. From searching for Harpy Eagles in the Amazon to scanning Mongolia’s steppes for Saker Falcons, we’ve also birded the cloud forests of Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. We can help you plan a trip with local guides who will expertly assist you in whatever your bird-finding needs are, anywhere in the world, or can join you on your next trip to provide personalized service.
