Did you have a spark bird that got you started birding?
Yes! It was a Cedar Waxwing at Chatfield State Park. I decided I wanted to get out, and try birding with a field guide and a pair of binoculars. And I saw that bird, looked at it in my field guide, and wasn't sure if it was a Cedar Waxwing or a Bohemian Waxwing. I went to the center and the guy said it was definitely a Cedar Waxwing- Bohemians were further north. I went to the range maps in the book. Just going through that process, figuring out what it was and getting a little bit of help just got me started.
